Went for some traditional food and we left with a wonderful dinner and experience
We had a perfect, delicious diner.
The service and the dishes were good. We felt special that evening, thnx for that.
We came to Thigaterra with a very specific purpose. We wanted to understand Cretan food, not simply eat it. We had Peskesi at one end of our trip, helping us understand the roots and traditions of Cretan cuisine, and Thigaterra at the other, showing us where those traditions can go today. Together, they gave us a frame for understanding everything else we ate in Crete.
And what a spectacular meal.
I had assumed that “Slow Food” might mean settling in for a four- or five-hour dinner. Quite the opposite. The meal flowed beautifully, dishes arrived remarkably quickly, and nothing ever felt rushed. The food was thoughtful, beautifully executed, and deeply connected to Crete while still feeling contemporary.
We were three Canadians enthusiastically attempting our broken Greek, and the staff could not have been more gracious about it, rescuing us with English whenever necessary. The beer was cold, the service was charming and genuinely kind, and we felt wonderfully looked after throughout the meal.
If you are coming to Crete and want not just an excellent meal but a better understanding of what Cretan food can be, I cannot recommend Thigaterra highly enough. It was one of the meals that helped us understand the island. Five stars across the board.
This was a recommendation from an employee at the wine store. The reasturant is so cute and cozy with ample parking. The food was amazing and the service felt very personal. I would highly recommend. (Visiting from Toronto Canada)

Ζεστό περιβάλλον με ωραίες, ξεχωριστές κρητικές γεύσεις. το επισκέφτηκα για 2η φορά και έμεινα εξίσου ευχαριστημένος όπως την 1η φορα.
Πολύ ωραίος χώρος με χαλαρή μουσική,ευγενικό προσωπικό,και πάρα πολύ νόστιμο φαγητό, ιδανικό για παρέες και ζευγάρια.

Το προσωπικό ήταν πάρα πολύ εξυπηρετικό. Μας ενημέρωσαν για όλα τα πιάτα με λεπτομέρειες. Το φαγητό εξαιρετικό. Σίγουρα θα το προτιμήσω ξανά.

The goat was probably the best thing I ate on crete. The dishes were perfectly balanced with massive flavor and just the right amount of healthy. Staff was helpful and attentive.

We were staying in the area and decided to give this restaurant a try. We were not disappointed. The meal and service we had was good enough for us to book a table for a couple of days later.
Αν θες κάτι το ξεχωριστό σίγουρα αξίζει να το επισκεφτείς , απλώς καλό θα ήταν να κάνεις ένα research στο μενού νωρίτερα για να δεις αν είναι κοντά στις γεύσεις σου .

We had lunch or dinner 3 days in a row. Were really impressed by the good quality of the ingredients and the lovely cooking. Complimentary desserts and raki :) Cozy feeling restaurant with an attentive and kind sevice. Anthonis took such good care of us. As did Mike and all the other staff.
