We booked a table to eat here just in case it was busy, but there were plenty of free tables. We sat by the waters edge, overlooking Spinalonga, and were greeted by a lovely waitress (Lena?) who went through the specials, the fish options etc. I had the most delicious Moussaka, probably the tastiest one I have ever had with a very subtle cinnamon flavour, and my wife had the equally tasty grilled octopus together with Greek salad and tzatsiki, and a bottle of retsina. When we'd finished we enjoyed complimentary yoghurt with the most amazing sweet cherry and ,of course, a glass of local raki. We really enjoyed our evening here, lovely food and very friendly staff and would definitely recommend it.
Very friendly and welcoming staff, the restaurant is ideally situated with a view of Spinalunga. Variety of fresh fish, kids menu and authentic Greek dishes to cater for all tastes.

We walked into Taverna Spinalonga for the first time on our vacation in Crete; and it did not disappoint. We were greeted warmly by the staff, as if we had eaten there regularly. We sat at a table on the veranda, overlooking the sea and Spinalonga island we chose our own fish (red snapper) which was cooked to perfection!

Our taxi driver from the airport recommended the restaurant and we made it our first destination during our stay in Plaka. Lovely family run restaurant, offered three different fresh catches and we went for the sea bass, amazing, filleted expertly in front of us!
Nice wine list and such friendly people. Make sure you pay a visit when you are in Plaka.
The food is excellent, delicious! The view is amazing, right by the water. Very relaxing atmosphere. Friendly, professional, knowledgeable staff.

The minute you entered the restaurant you were made to feel welcome. Fish of choice was straight from the sea. It was very tasty. The scenery over looking the sea was also beautiful.
Accueil très chaleureux, l’équipe est au top et la vue juste magnifique. Les plats sont assez variés, il y en a pour tous les goûts. Si je retourne à plaka j’y retournerais avec grand plaisir !

The musaka is extraordinary and the wait staff is super welcoming.
Está ubicada en un entorno muy acogedor, con una vista privilegiada de la isla de Spinalonga. El trato del personal es muy amable, buena comida y excelente precio. A 50 metros tienes el embarcadero para coger los barcos a la isla.

Excellent food and location, on the waterfront. The staff is very friendly. The fish was fresh and tasty .
The taverna is located around half-way into Plaka with parking nearby. We'd heard the seafood here was very good with fresh whole fish from the days catch, which we were shown before choosing which fish and how we wanted it cooked. The Sea Bream was prepared beautifully, de-boned with a nice lemon and olive oil sauce and some grilled vegetables. The complimentary sweet was a rich greek yoghurt mix with berry fruits including quince, not often seen in Crete. The raki, as is the custom was also complimentary. There is also a decent wine list of Greek wines. It was a very convivial evening; I'd certainly recommend a visit.
Typical Greek taverna food - family run - simple not pretentious
Enjoyed the views of Spinalonga and the blue waters while eating super fresh seafood. The Spinalonga salad was special - we will be back. Thanks Bill for friendly service!
Φάγαμε ωραίο φρεσκο ψάρι πάνω στο θάλλασα, αλλά και πεντανόστιμα κρητικά πιάτα. Ήταν όλα υπέροχα! Η φιλοξενία των ιδιοκτητών αλλά και το σούπερ ευγενικό προσωπικό, μας εκαναν πολύ καλή εντύπωση! Το συστήνουμε!
