We had a lovely dinner at this incredible restaurant that a local friend recommended. We had the stuffed zucchini flowers, the snails, a delicious greek salad and the lamb kleftiko. The tzatziki was also phenomenal.
Located towards the end of Plaka, Crete. This place is awesome. We went in search of lamb kleftiko, and it was fabulous. The keftedes and french fries were amazing. They served appetizers of pita bread and the best tzaziki I have ever had (I am Greek) The pita was hot. The Dakos salad was fabulous. The server/Manager Manoli is the best! He brought us Greek yogurt and Greek/Cretan Kyrasi (sweet preserves) as well as shots of Greek Raki for us all. The atmosphere is classic Greek Taverna. This would be a repeat for us.
Wonderful service and delicious food. Had an amazing wine to compliment our meal. Very knowledgeable sommelier.
Maria's was just perfect. The food was delicious, the service exemplary and the ambience was delightful. We have recommended Maria's to other guests staying at our hotel. The walk from Domes Aulus was lovely and only €11 euros for the taxi home.

We visited Plaka 2 times, just to have lunch at Maria's Tavern. We really enjoyed the very fresh and tasty dishes: the Greek salad, the fresh squid, stuffed or fried, the stifado. Skip the bigger taverns and try to get a table at Maria's!
