In the center of Agios Nikolaos next to the lake, there are two excellent restaurants under common ownership, the Greek tavern Karnagio and Pita tou Riga. Both have managed to win only positive reviews from every visitor. The food is excellent, the staff is very friendly and the atmosphere idyllic. Appetizers over the lake, local Raki, appropriate music and incredibly smart t-shirt for the staff. The unique flavors and nights with live Cretan music have established Karnagio and Pita tou Riga as one of the best dining options in Agios Nikolaos.
