at the water front with great food and service, easy parking mainly in shadow
We were two couples and had an absolutely wonderful time at Arkadi Fish Taverna in Georgioupolis. The food was not only fresh and flavorful but also beautifully presented. Every dish we ordered – from the seafood platter to the grilled octopus – was perfectly cooked and delicious.
The atmosphere was warm and authentic, with a charming local vibe, and the service was excellent – friendly, attentive, and very welcoming. You can feel the love for traditional Cretan cuisine in every bite.
Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area and looking for a high-quality and authentic fish tavern experience. We would definitely come back again!

Fantastic seafront location. The menu is available English and German. Fish is fresh and affordable. Very friendly and efficient service. We even got some free ouzo at the end of our meal! Absolutely recommend if you’re in the area.

We can warmly recommend this lovely authentic restaurant. The service is impeccable, with enough English/German spoken by staff to make ordering easy. The house wine is charming and very cheap. the meze is superb, there is fresh fish and prices are reasonable. It is a family restaurant and seems always busy and yet the service is fast and attentive. There are even white starched table cloths! We shall be back next year.

We return to Arkadi regularly because of the unique setting and friendly service. It is best for fish freshly cooked but they have a wide menu. Some dishes are not as considered as you’d like. e.g a meagre fava dip and too huge courgette balls (3 large ones!). The table wine is drinkable. We go for the Harbour view and fresh seafood mainly!
